On Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) revealed a mega-event lined up for the end of this week. The side said they would unveil their new jersey on March 12.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise took to Twitter to reveal. In their post, they said:

They went on to write:

IPL 2022: RCB announced the new captain on March 12
RCB iconic man Virat Kohli gave up the captaincy after IPL 2021, leaving the team looking for another name to lead the side. The side retained Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj apart from Kohli and the Australian is seen as an choice for the role.
The Bangalore franchise also secured in expert wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik and he is seen as a potential captain. The frontrunner for the role is South African batter Faf du Plessis, who was bid at ₹7 crores at the IPL 2022 auction.

Du Plessis is a former South Africa skipper and was in stunning form in the last season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He completed only behind Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad in the race for the Orange Cap, securing just one run fewer than the 25-year-old Indian.
Virat had led the team since 2013 and the franchise will have a new skipper for the initially in close to a decade.
