Gabriel made his First-Class debut for Trinidad and Tobago when he was 22 years old.on 29 January 2010 Gabriel made his debut in first-class cricket playing for Trinidad and Tobago against the Leeward Islands in the 2009-2010 Regional 4 Day Competition. He played 75 first-class matches and took 191 wickets in first-class matches.
On 17 May 2012, Shannon Gabriel made his international debut against England. On 21 June 2016, Gabriel made his ODI debut against Australia. His Career Best Bowling Figures in Test Match Came Against Srilanka 13/121 in a Match.
