Suresh Raina was arrested by Mumbai Police for violating the social-distancing rules set by the Indian government for coronavirus. There were a total of 34 people arrested including Suresh Raina and some Actors in the early hours of Tuesday. They were partying in the Dragonfly Experience club which is located near Mumbai Airport.
According to the deputy commissioner of Mumbai Police, Legal action has been taken against Suresh Raina and the others arrested in the club.” It is a violation of government instructions because the government has asked peoples not to party beyond a certain time, so they have violated that rule”. The Police said, “They were taken into custody and left immediately on bail.” they were arrested hours after the Maharashtra government announced a night-time curfew, which will come into effect from Tuesday night.
This is the second time in five months that Raina has been in the news for non-cricketing reasons. In a Recent Statement, Raina’s management team said he was unaware of the rules and restrictions of the Mumbai Government and he regrets the unintentional incident. “Suresh Was in Mumbai for a Shoot which is extended to late hours and he was invited by a friend for a quick dinner post the same prior to him taking the flight back to Delhi and he was not aware of the local timing and protocols.” the statement read. “Once pointed out, he immediately complied with the procedures laid out by the authorities and regrets the unfortunate and unintentional incident. He always holds rules and laws laid down by governing bodies with the highest regard and will continue to do so in the future as well.”
He was recently retired from international cricket on August 15 this year. He also left the IPL2020 series and came back home from UAE due to some personal reason. No one knows what is the real reason for the sudden return of Suresh Raina.
He was named in his state team Uttar Pradesh’s probably for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which will start from January 10 till January 21 at various across India.
